Binary Plan MLM Software

A binary plan is an MLM compensation structure where every member has only two front-line positions, a left leg and a right leg, and earns a pairing bonus on the volume matched between them. MLM.ERP binary MLM software automates placement, spillover, carry-forward, pair capping and matching bonuses in real time, so admins never reconcile legs by hand.

Who is the Binary Plan best for?

Product companies that want simple team-building rules and are ready to manage weaker-leg balancing carefully.

How it works

The Binary plan in 5 steps

  1. 1

A sponsor enrols a new member and chooses, or lets the system choose, the left or right leg.

  2. 2

If both front positions are filled, the new member spills over to the next open slot below.

  3. 3

Every purchase adds business volume (BV) up the tree to each upline’s left or right total.

  4. 4

The engine pairs left volume against right volume at each cut-off and pays the pairing bonus.

  5. 5

Unpaired volume on the stronger leg is carried forward, flushed or capped according to your rules.

Income types

How distributors earn in a Binary plan

Every income type below is configurable in MLM.ERP: rates, levels, caps and qualification rules.

Pairing bonus

A fixed amount or percentage paid for every matched pair of left and right volume, e.g. 1:1 or 2:1 ratios.

Matching bonus

A percentage of the pairing income earned by personally sponsored members, often across two or three generations.

Direct referral bonus

A one-time reward credited to the sponsor when a new member activates a package.

Carry-forward volume

Unmatched points on the stronger leg roll into the next cycle instead of being lost, if you enable it.

Rank rewards

Milestone rewards unlocked once cumulative paired volume crosses a configured threshold.

Worked example

See the numbers in action

Suppose a member’s left leg holds 12 active members and the right leg holds 9, each carrying 100 points. With a 1:1 pairing rule, the engine matches 9 pairs and pays the configured pairing value on each one. The extra 300 points on the left leg are carried forward to the next cycle. If the daily cap is set at 8 pairs, only 8 are paid today and the remaining pair follows your flush or carry policy.

Pros & considerations

Is the Binary plan right for you?

Why companies choose it

  • Easy for distributors to understand: build two teams and help them grow evenly.
  • Spillover lets upline effort benefit newer members, which supports early retention.
  • Pairing payouts can be calculated quickly, often daily, keeping motivation high.
  • Capping and carry-forward rules give the company firm control over payout ratios.

What to design carefully

  • Weaker-leg dependency can frustrate members whose strong leg goes unpaid; publish flush rules clearly.
  • Pair caps that are too tight feel unfair, while caps that are too loose can push payouts beyond product margins.
  • Regulators look at whether volume comes from genuine retail sales rather than joining fees, so tie BV to products.

Binary plan: common questions

Ask a question
How does a binary plan pay commission?

Commission is paid on matched volume. The software totals business volume on the left and right legs, pairs them using your ratio (for example 1:1), and pays a pairing bonus per matched pair. Any surplus on the stronger leg is carried forward or flushed, depending on the rules you configure in MLM.ERP.

What is spillover in binary MLM?

Spillover happens when a sponsor recruits more people than their two front-line positions can hold. The extra members are placed lower in the tree, usually under a downline member. MLM.ERP lets you set automatic placement to the extreme left, extreme right or weaker leg, or allow manual placement by the sponsor.

What is the difference between capping and flush-out in a binary plan?

Capping limits how many pairs or how much pairing income a member can earn in a cycle. Flush-out decides what happens to volume that is not paid: it can be cleared at the cut-off or carried forward. Both settings protect the company’s payout ratio and are fully configurable in the admin panel.

Can I run a binary plan with repurchase income?

Yes. Many companies combine binary pairing on joining packages with a separate repurchase or unilevel bonus on monthly product orders. MLM.ERP supports hybrid plans, so repurchase BV can feed the binary tree, a level-based bonus, or both, with each income shown separately in the member’s wallet.
