Who is the Party Plan best for?

Brands selling cosmetics, kitchenware, fashion, jewellery or home décor through demonstrations and social events.

How it works

The Party plan in 5 steps

  1. 1

A consultant creates a party and invites a host, who invites guests.

  2. 2

Guests order from a party-specific link, in person or online.

  3. 3

Sales are attributed to the party, the host and the consultant automatically.

  4. 4

When the party closes, the host earns rewards based on total party sales.

  5. 5

The consultant earns commission and their upline earns team overrides.

Income types

How distributors earn in a Party plan

Every income type below is configurable in MLM.ERP: rates, levels, caps and qualification rules.

Party sales commission

A percentage of total party sales credited to the consultant.

Host rewards

Free product credit or discounts for the host, scaled by party sales tiers.

Booking bonus

A reward for hosts or consultants when a guest books a future party.

Team override

A percentage of the party sales of consultants in the downline, by level or rank.

Worked example

See the numbers in action

A consultant runs a party where 10 guests place orders totalling 4,000 points. With a 20% consultant commission, the consultant earns 800 points. The host reaches the 3,000-point tier and receives 10% of party sales as product credit, or 400 points, plus a booking reward because two guests scheduled their own parties. The consultant’s sponsor earns a 3% team override of 120 points.

Pros & considerations

Is the Party plan right for you?

Why companies choose it

  • Sales-first model with real customers at every party.
  • Hosts become future consultants, supporting organic growth.
  • Works offline and online, including live video parties.
  • Clear separation between retail customers and distributors aids compliance.

What to design carefully

  • Party logistics, such as sample kits and shipping, need careful cost control.
  • Host reward liabilities should be tracked so product credits do not erode margin.
  • Guest data must be handled under applicable privacy laws, such as India’s DPDP Act.

Party plan: common questions

Ask a question
What is a party plan in direct selling?

It is a selling model built around social events. A host invites friends, a consultant demonstrates products, and guests order. The consultant earns commission, the host receives rewards, and the consultant’s team leaders may earn overrides. Parties can be in person or online.

How are host rewards calculated in a party plan?

Host rewards are usually tiered by total party sales: higher sales unlock more free product credit, discounts or half-price items. MLM.ERP lets you define tiers and reward types, and credits the host automatically when the party closes.

Can a party plan run online?

Yes. Consultants can host virtual parties over video and share a party link for guests to order. MLM.ERP attributes every online order to the right party, host and consultant, so commission and rewards are calculated exactly as they would be for an in-person event.

Can I combine a party plan with a unilevel or binary plan?

Yes. Party sales can generate volume for a unilevel or binary bonus, and leadership overrides can sit on top. MLM.ERP keeps party commissions, host rewards and team bonuses as separate income types, which makes statements easier to read.
